High Holiday 5783 Middle School and Teen Program
Middle School and Teen Program (Rosh Hashanah Both Days):
For both of these age groups the formal programming will begin at 10:00 am in the lower level. Please have your child(ren) come at 10:00am and stay until 12:00pm in order for them to experience all official programming and to ensure smooth transitions.
The program will be divided by age groups.
Shofar So Good will be a rotation-based program with a Tefillah service, Social Justice Component, and a Birthday Party for the World. Directly following the end of the program there will be an Oneg in the social hall with a plethora of snacks and drinks. If students decline to participate in the Oneg, they should rejoin their families in the sanctuary until the end of services.
Kol Nidre Chit Chat:
Immediately
following the Kol Nidre prayer in the main sanctuary, from 6:20-8:00 pm, 5th-12th graders are invited to an engaging program and discussion about the meaning of Yom Kippur. If students decline to participate, they should stay in the sanctuary with their families for the duration of the services.
Middle School and Teen Program (Yom Kippur Day):
For both of these age groups the formal programming will begin at 10:00 am in the lower level. Please have your child(ren) come at 10:00am and stay until 12:00pm in order for them to experience all official programming and to ensure smooth transitions.
The program will be divided by age groups.
The offerings will include a rotation-based program with a Tefillah service, Social Justice Component, and Book of Jonah activity. Following the program there will be a hangout in the social hall with meditation and yoga options, a reading nook, and reflection activities. If students decline to participate, they should rejoin their families in the sanctuary until the end of services.
Middle School and Teen Program (Neilah):
Help run games and hang out with K-4th graders from 6:00-7:00pm! As the end of Yom Kippur approaches, they will help hand out light-up bracelets and necklaces to prepare for Neilah Nightlights (march into synagogue) and Havdalah.
